“Let the work we do on ourselves ripple forth and benefit the world, “Pro Mundi Beneficio”
Shannon Fitzgerald
Yoga Teacher • Reiki Master • Firefighter/EMT
For over a decade, Shannon has shared the transformative power of yoga with students from all walks of life. As the former owner of Awake the Studio, she cultivated a vibrant community rooted in healing, connection, and personal growth. Her teaching has taken her across the United States, Australia, and Canada, where she has led classes, workshops, and retreats designed to inspire authentic transformation.
Committed to lifelong learning, Shannon has expanded her training through trauma-informed yoga, breathwork, and energy healing, becoming a Reiki Master. Her work is grounded in creating safe, supportive spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and discover the healing power of presence.
In addition to her work in wellness, Shannon serves as a Firefighter/EMT, giving her a unique perspective on resilience, compassion, and caring for both body and mind. She has also worked with high-risk youth, first responders, medical professionals, and individuals in addiction recovery and mental health programs, bringing yoga and mindfulness to communities navigating extraordinary challenges.
Whether leading a sunrise yoga practice, facilitating retreat, or serving her community, Shannon's intention is to help others reconnect with their inner strength, embrace life's challenges with courage, and remember that healing is always possible.
Alexis Freeborn
Somatic Psychotherapist, LMFT • Yoga Teacher • Ceremony Guide
Alexis believes that healing begins when we reconnect—with ourselves, one another, and the natural world. Her work is rooted in the belief that lasting transformation happens through the integration of mind, body, heart, spirit, and community.
As a somatic psychotherapist, Alexis specializes in nervous system regulation and embodied self-awareness. She received her Masters in Clinicial Psychology with a focus on Somatic Psychotherapy at Antioch University in Santa Barbara, California, and has continued her education through advanced studies at Kripalu Center, Circle Yoga Shala and Dhamma Dhara Meditation Center to name a few.
For over 12 years, Alexis has taught yoga and mindfulness workshops to students of all experience levels, teaching throughout the Boston and North Shore communities—including Awake Yoga, where she met her Wild Hearts co-facilitator, Shannon—as well as across Santa Barbara, California.
Alexis blends somatic therapy with breathwork, energy healing as a reiki practioner, and heart-centered ritual to create positive change in her clients. Her work is deeply influenced by Jungian psychology, shadow work, astrology, and earth-based spirituality. She has studied astrology with Kaypacha Lescher in Costa Rica and has been reading Tarot since childhood, using archetypal wisdom as a lifelong tool for reflection and personal growth.
Whether guiding yoga beneath the jungle canopy, leading ceremony, or holding therapeutic space, Alexis invites others to slow down, trust their intuition, and reconnect with the wisdom already within them.
